The Freedom Entrepreneurs Conference scheduled for Saturday, September 17th, has been cancelled. There was not enough interest in this event to proceed. Though the event was advertised through tens of thousands of members of Black Business groups on Facebook, these was very little interest.

We will be hosting a free one day event later this Fall to show the world what has been missed. Until then, please continue to grow your businesses through action.

Most of us start out business without answering the most important questions about the business idea. We need to know if our products and/or services will sell, we also need to know if we will generate enough revenue from our sales to make the business a worth while effort. There is research that needs to be done and projections that need to be made to make the right decisions. Participants will learn to use a checklist to determine if their business is feasible.

Entrepreneurial Publishing is the process of writing a book that will help you grow your business. Whatever type of business you own and operate there is a Profit book that if written, could double, triple or quadruple your current business income. And that doesn't even include book sales. There are Passion Books and the Profit Books. We will discuss both. Participants will learn how to write and use a profit book to promote their business.

There are many different ways to structure your business. Sole-Proprietor, Limited Liability Company (LLC) and Subchapter S Corporation are the most common. Generally you can start claiming business expenses only after you establish your business entity. Participants will learn about the benefits and disadvantages of structuring a business.

The Are You Ready For Business checklist is guidance for taking your business to the next level. It applies to existing businesses that want to expand beyond the limited growth of Business to Consumer (B2C) operations.   Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) enterprises have the potential to grow your business exponentially with contracting opportunities. Participants in this session will learn how to use our checklist to grow their business.

Most small business are unable to compete for large projects and contracts because they do not have the capacity to compete with larger companies. Joint ventures and teaming agreements are a way to overcome those obstacles. Many businesses don’t want to partner with others because they don’t want to share the pie. They fail to realize that by partnering with other companies they can pursue bigger pies than they could on their own. Participants will learn how to explore joint ventures and teams to grow their business.

21st Century Skills are required to be successful in any endeavor. They include Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Technology Literacy, Financial Literacy, Adaptability, Communications and Leadership to name a few. Entrepreneurs need to rely on these skills even more. Participants in this session will learn about the 21st Century skills that will help them grow their business, how to develop the skills and how to use them.

You need to determine if it is likely that customers will buy what your are selling (feasibility plan). You want to grow your business in stages adding new products or new locations over a period of time (strategic plan). There are plans for soliciting funding for your new business (startup plan). There are also internal operations plans. What you use will vary based on what you are trying to accomplish. This session will teach participants how to choose and use the right plan at the right time.

Every business goes through changes in the course of its lifetime and it makes sense for businesses to understand exactly where they are in the cycle so they can prepare for what's next. This topic will discuss the challenges, focuses and financing sources you will need to succeed. Whether your business is a glowing success or a dismal failure depends on your ability to adapt to the business cycle. Participants in this session will learn about the 7 stages and how to plan and adapt to make the best business decisions.

7 Stage Business Cycle

Capability statements and brochures are tools to connect with potential customers in print format. In its simplest form, a capability statement is a promotional or marketing statement about your business and its capabilities and skills that advertises who you are and what you have done and what you can do. It is a resume for your business. They are used for business to business (B2B) and business to government (B2G) marketing. Brochures are typically used for marketing to consumers (B2C). This session will teach participants how to create brochures and capability statements and when they should be used.

One of the best ways to connect and market your products/services to potential customers is through email. Email marketing allows you to segment your contacts into different lists based on their preferences to send highly personalized content. From crafting the perfect subject line to images that resonate with your customer, and valuable content that helps your audience, email is the perfect channel to drive engagement. Services like MailChimp.com and ConstantContact.com allow you to develop and manage email contacts for collecting and disseminating information electronically. Ask for permission to add someone to your mailing list by offering them something of value in return for free. (email newsletter, whitepaper or e-book). This session will show participants how to grow their business using email marketing. 

This course examines career advancement options for entry and mid level workers. There are many job opportunities that exist, but many require going to college or obtaining a certification. This course provides the building blocks for being effective in your career and provides techniques and insights that will introduce participants to the concept of creating opportunities for advancement. The goal is to achieve the career of their dreams.
